Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem like lovely people. Netflix dropped "Pearl," an animated children's series Meghan created through her and Harry's production company, Archewell Productions, before it even premiered. The audio-streaming company signed a deal with Harry and Meghan in 2020 reportedly worth $20 million. As Michael Pachter, a managing director at Wedbush Securities who's covered movies, entertainment, and tech for two decades, explained, it's because they've still got that $100 million deal. A public breakup with Meghan and Harry may also be a mess Netflix doesn't want to deal with.

TELEVISION PERSONALITY Gayle King began honing her interview skills as a child in Chevy Chase, Md. Today, she adds a new prime-time CNN news show to her résumé, “King Charles,” which she hosts with sportscaster Charles Barkley. For many years, King was best known as a much-referenced pal of Oprah Winfrey , whom she met in Baltimore in 1976 when both worked in local news. But today, King is a force in her own right, equally admired for her outsize personality, adventurous fashion sense and facility for chatting uninhibitedly with celebrities such as Jay-Z and Barbra Streisand. “Shyness is not one of my strong suits.” Here, King opens up about her addiction to icing, unfashionable loyalty to iPods, robust high-low wardrobe and more.

After Tuesday’s elections, you write, “The political potency of abortion rights proved more powerful than the drag of President Biden’s approval ratings in Tuesday’s off-year elections.”What do Mr. Biden’s approval ratings have to do with abortion rights on the ballot? Andy Beshear in Kentucky highlights many reasons why President Biden needs to pass the torch. As a lifelong Democrat, I am mystified why Mr. Biden does not gracefully step aside. He won 52 percent of the vote in a red state that Mr. Biden lost by 26 points in 2020. I implore Mr. Biden to listen to the wishes of the American people and let a new leader arise.

Older adults, many of whom have saved their entire careers for retirement, can have the most to lose. The Covid pandemic was a disproportionate threat to older adults, keeping Americans indoors and quickly pushing them online. Outcomes hinge on a complex web of federal and state rules that govern banking and elder financial fraud. Such "heightened procedures" to protect older adults are part of the bank's duty of care relative to older customers, the lawsuit said. Scammers had her wire funds from her PNC bank account to an account at the now-defunct Signature Bank in New York.

James Reston Jr., an eclectic historian and novelist who helped the British television host David Frost prod former President Richard M. Nixon into admitting his complicity in the Watergate scandal and apologizing in a wrenching broadcast interview, died on Wednesday at his home in Chevy Chase, Md. The cause was pancreatic cancer, said his wife, Denise Leary. Mr. Reston, whose father was a renowned figure at The New York Times as a columnist, Washington bureau chief and executive editor, largely bypassed daily journalism to focus on timely and historical nonfiction and novels and adapting four of his books into plays. As a result, Mr. Reston was primed when Mr. Frost bought exclusive rights to interview Nixon after the president resigned in 1974 and recruited Mr. Reston as a researcher.

Berkshire Hathaway shareholders attending this year's meeting will want to know more about the company Warren Buffett once called his "favorite child" – the auto insurer Geico. With tens of thousands of shareholders in attendance, Berkshire's annual "Woodstock for Capitalists" will be held in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, the second in-person gathering since 2019. "I think it's the biggest issue out there at the moment is really Geico," said Bill Stone, chief investment officer at Glenview Trust and a Berkshire shareholder. Geico, until recently, wasn't involved in telematics," Jain said at Berkshire's 2022 meeting. Geico represents one area of weakness for Berkshire, which overall has been beating the broader market.
